Katie Couric is dabbling in non-Yahoo web content. She and her husband John Molner will co-host Full Plate with Katie & John, a cooking show set in the couple’s apartment and created in collaboration with cookware vendor Sur La Table.
Each episode of Full Plate will feature a recipe concocted by Sur La Table head chef Joel Gamoran. The goal is to feature healthy, delicious recipes that take fewer than 20 minutes to prepare, with Couric and Molner heading into their kitchen to take viewers through the requisite steps.
“John and I love cooking at home but can rarely find the time, so we are thrilled to partner with Sur La Table and Chef Joel Gamoran in creating these fast gourmet recipes,” said Couric. “We look forward to sharing them with our busy viewers and showing them that they can do the same.”
Sur La Table, based in Seattle, has occasionally used video to show off its cookware. In a recent pair of videos on the company’s YouTube channel, for example, celebrity chef Rick Bayless took one of the grills Sur La Table sells for a whirl. Full Plate will feature two cookware makers — GreenPan and Hansgrohe — as its sponsors.
Full Plate’s initial run will begin on January 1st and will continue across the next five Sundays, according to People. Episodes will available through the Sur La Table website.
