DanceOn Network Names Karen Schuchardt Chief Revenue Officer, Betty Tran EVP Of Marketing

The DanceOn digital network, which celebrates music and dance in pop culture — and counts an average 300 million monthly views across all platforms — has announced two key additions to its executive ranks.

The company has named Karen Schuchardt chief revenue officer in its New York City offices to oversee global ad sales, licensing revenue, and business development. Schuchardt previously served as vice president of digital ad sales at ABC, and has also held similar roles at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and Viacom.

Additionally, the network has added Betty Tran as executive vice president of marketing, based in DanceOn’s Los Angeles headquarters. Tran will spearhead all marketing operations across music and brand partnerships. She previously served as EVP of marketing and media at Insomniac Events, a division of Live Nation Entertainment, and, prior to that, led integrated marketing at Machinima.

“Karen and Betty are key hires as DanceOn aims to broaden its portfolio of sales and music partnerships in 2016,” said DanceOn CEO Amanda Taylor in a statement. ”I’m delighted to welcome them as we expand our programming and prepare for upcoming projects with major music partners and consumer brands.”

DanceOn, co-founded by Taylor, MadonnaGuy Oseary, and Machinima CEO Allen DeBevoise, was born from the YouTube Original Channels Initiative, and has since turned into a full-on multi-channel network. In January, the company partnered with Reebok to showcase a new apparel line with the creators Chachi Gonzales, Danielle Peazer, and Rino Nakasone. DanceOn also announced a partnership to produce 25 original series through 2017 for Verizon’s go90 mobile video platform.
