The Huffington Post today launched Talk To Me, a series in which Hollywood and business heavyweights like Oprah, Bono, Richard Branson, and Melinda Gates will sit down for revealing interviews with their children. Episodes will premiere on the The Huffington Post‘s Facebook page.
The series was conceived by Christina Huffington, daughter of Huffington Post co-founder and editor-in-chief Arianna Huffington, who will also appear on an episode of Talk To Me. Additional pairings include Uber founder Travis Kalanik and his father, Donald; Lionel and Nicole Richie; Starbucks chairman and CEO Howard Schultz and son Jordan; and Ron Howard and Bryce Dallas Howard.
In addition to providing a platform for intergenerational dialogue about life experiences and lessons learned, conversations will also focus on pressing social issues, including women’s empowerment, gender equality, environmentalism, and hunger, according to The Huffington Post. In a bid to generate these same conversations in homes across the globe, The Huffington Post is partnering with Unilever to invite readers of each of its 15 global editions to record conversations with their own family members. HuffPost and Unilever are asking participants to record their conversations using Facebook Live with the hashtag #TalkToMe.
“We are launching Talk To Me in the hope that children everywhere will begin to initiate these conversations with their parents,” executive producer Christiana Huffington said in a statement, “and ask the questions there never seems to be the time to ask.”
