Netflix Picks Up Psychological Thriller ‘Gypsy’ For Ten Episodes

Netflix has another new series in the works as part of its efforts to increase original programming in 2016. The streaming video-on-demand service has ordered ten episodes of the psychological thriller series Gypsy from writer Lisa Rubin.

Over the course of its ten one-hour episodes, Gypsy tells the story of therapist Jean Holloway, who develops what a release calls “dangerous and intimate relationships with the people in her patients’ lives.” Gypsy hails from Universal Television, Working Title, and Rubin. Rubin will also serve as an executive producer alongside Liza Chasin, Tim Bevan, and Eric Fellner. Netflix has yet to reveal any cast members involved in the upcoming series.

Gypsy is only the most recent project Netflix has greenlit for production in recent months. The streaming platform has selected the serial killer-themed show Mindhunter from executive producer David Fincher and actress Charlize Theron. Netflix is also working on a six-part adventure series called Frontier starring Game of Thrones actor Jason Momoa. Most recently, Netflix picked up two new animated series from DreamWorks Animation, one of which will be helmed by acclaimed director Guillermo del Toro.
