VidCon Announces Keynote Speakers From Vessel, GoPro, YouTube, Twitter

The 6th annual VidCon is shaping up to be an exciting event. The YouTube-centric industry, consumer, and fan-based conference, founded in 2010 by VlogbrothersHank and John Green, has announced keynote speakers from a variety of high-profile online video companies and brands, including Vessel, GoPro, and Twitter.

The event sent for July 23-25, 2015 has brought on Jason Kilar, founder of premium video platform Vessel, and Zander Lurie, Senior Vice President of Media at GoPro, to deliver keynote speeches during the three-day event in Anaheim, California. Joining Kilar and Lurie are Baljeet Singh, Twitter’s product lead for television and video, and Derek Callow, YouTube’s Director of Partner Marketing.

“Now in its sixth year, VidCon continues to be the place where the future direction of the online video industry is created”, said Jim Louderback, Editorial Director of the Industry Track at VidCon, in a release. “This year we’ve stepped it up a notch, recruiting some of the most powerful executives and innovators in media to fulfill our mission to educate and inspire the current and future leaders of the online video industry– which in turn empowers video creators to create amazing videos and build large and lasting communities.”

“We took feedback from last year’s attendees, closely monitored the current industry and assembled a dream team of online video power players to ensure this year’s attendees get the most out of VidCon 2015,” said Hank Green. “This year’s speakers not only share a passion for online video, but have also successfully parlayed that passion into new and creative content, partnerships and opportunities, which are inspirational for future video stars and potential decision makers.”

In addition to keynote speakers, VidCon has set up a slate of professional and creator-focused panels. For example, From Hollywood to Book Deals will look at the recent phenomenon of YouTube stars getting book publishing deals and how those can help sustain a creator’s business. Additionally, burgeoning YouTube creators can attend the Less Than Famous discussion, which celebrates the bevy of video makers who aren’t typically seen in the spotlight. VidCon will also host the premiere of Smosh: The Movie on July 23.

To purchase your ticket to VidCon, visit the conference’s website (but don’t wait too long – tickets are selling out fast).
