In 2013, months before she was pegged as a new cast member on Saturday Night Live, Sasheer Zamata co-starred alongside Nicole Byer in The Pursuit of Sexiness, a web series about two self-absorbed women who cause trouble for themselves and each other. Now, more than a year after its initial debut, The Pursuit of Sexiness is back. A new season has landed on Above Average, the comedy network run by SNL producer Broadway Video.
In The Pursuit of Sexiness, Zamata (who is currently in her second season as a featured player on NBC’s long-running sketch comedy program) and Byer (who appears on MTV’s Girl Code) star as fictional versions of themselves who are seeking “life, liberty, and the pursuit of sexiness,” according to the show’s description. The first new episode shows that the characters haven’t lost their trademark selfishness. At a speed dating event, Byer takes every opportunity to get as drunk as possible, while Zamata rebuffs men before attempting to lure them back once she learns they are rich, talented, and well-endowed.

The Pursuit of Sexiness‘ ties to Above Average run deeper than Zamata’s affiliation with SNL. The series initially debuted on the official UCB Comedy YouTube channel, which has since partnered with the Above Average network.
In total, the second season of The Pursuit of Sexiness will span six episodes. New installments will arrive on the Above Average website and YouTube channel every other Tuesday.
