Pluto TV Teams With AOL, Endemol For Streaming Distribution Deal

Pluto TV now has a lot more video content for its viewers to watch at their leisure. The online video platform offering over 100 free, 24/7 channels has partnered with AOL Originals and Endemol Beyond USA to stream the two companies’ video content.

Under the deal, Pluto TV will start streaming AOL and Endemol programming on its platform. Pluto’s CEO, Tom Ryan, noted in a release the partnership with AOL and Endemol “opens up a new avenue of quality content for Pluto TV viewers to enjoy.” The partners’ content will be available on all devices supported by Pluto TV, including desktop computers, tablets, smartphones, and select connected TVs.

“We’re excited to bring our vast library of premium content, including our original shows, to Pluto TV’s innovative platform, offering consumers yet another way to engage with AOL’s content and brands,” said Frank Besteiro, AOL’s Vice President of Business Development & Partnerships for video.

“We are thrilled to expand Endemol beyond USA’s premium content onto Pluto TV’s innovative cross-platform experience,” added David B. Williams, Chief Audience Officer at Endemol. “We know that with today’s ever increasing content destinations, it’s a necessity to meet our audiences wherever they may be.”

Pluto TV launched in March 2014 with channels ranging from “Business News” to the more specialized “SciFi Webseries” or “Funny or Die TV.” By September, the video site hit upwards of 3 million unique visitors. Then, in November, Pluto TV closed a $13 million Series A funding round led by U.S. Venture Partners, which it used to round out its content offerings and marketing efforts.

You can experience Pluto’s lean-back, HD channels for yourself at pluto.tv. The Pluto TV app is also available for free for iOS, Android, and Amazon Fire TV.
