Bethany Mota grew to popularity due to her beauty and fashion vlogging, but more recently she’s been forging a career in music, too. She sang a great rendition of Frozen’s “Let It Go” in the YouTube Rewind 2014 video and now she’s released a music video for her new song “Need You Right Now” featuring fellow YouTube musician and vocalist Mike Tompkins.
Produced by Tompkins, the “Need You Right Now” video begins with scenes from a futuristic, dystopian-like society all wearing the same neutral-toned clothing. One citizen secretly shows another person the triangle symbol on his palm, a shape which viewers later see all over an abandoned building that several citizens are approaching. The establishment is presumably an illicit party location in which Mota and Tompkins are performing “Need You Right Now” as a disco ball projects brightly-colored clothing overtop the attendees’ drab garb.

Mota and Tompkins released the lyric video for “Need You Right Now” back in October 2014. Former Jonas Brothers member Kevin Jonas directed the lyric video which features Mota setting off a chain reaction of dominoes.
Mota is a multi-talented creator. The YouTube vlogger appeared on season 19 of Dancing With the Stars and released her own clothing line via retail store Aeropostale. More recently, Mota was one of three YouTubers who interviewed President Obama for YouTube after his State of the Union address.
Tompkins is no stranger to the online video world, either. The musician garnered 1 million subscribers through his use of a cappella and vocal techniques to cover popular songs. He was also the first musical act to sign with Maker Studios. And according to Tompkins’ website, the YouTube creator produced and was featured in t.A.T.u.’s “Love In Every Moment” single, which hit #1 on the charts in Russia.
