YouTube Millionaires: For Aspyn Ovard, “Less Is More When It Comes To Makeup”

Aspyn Ovard‘s YouTube channel is heating up. Aspyn Ovard: It’s really exciting! And it’s definitely cool to see my hard work pay off. I have received so many positive comments lately from all my viewers so I would like to just thank them so much for continuing to support me and watch my videos!

TF: What do you think sets your videos apart from other YouTube beauty channels?

AO: I think in general just having my own style sets my videos apart! The cool thing about YouTube is that even when people are making similar videos, their ability to have complete creative control and put their own spin on things is awesome and makes videos more fun to watch.

TF: Who is your biggest inspiration in the beauty world?

AO: Definitely my mom! Even though she isn’t technically in the “YouTube Beauty” world, she has always given me great tips on all things beauty related and she is always there to help me out when I have more questions! She always taught me that less is more when it comes to makeup, and it took me a long time to learn that (don’t ask to see pictures of me in middle school), but I’m glad I finally did because wow, that tip saved me from a lot of embarrassment.

TF: What would you say is the single most important tip you’ve shared on your channel?

AO: I think the most important tip I could give is to just always be yourself! That’s one thing I like about myself, is that I’m never afraid or ashamed to share what I believe or what I think about things. I always just walk to the beat of my own drum and don’t worry about what other people are doing or saying about me.

TF: What made you decide to run your holiday giveaway this year?

AO: I am doing a huge holiday giveaway this year because I really wanted to give back to my viewers! Especially since they have been so kind lately and left me the best comments. It’s the season of giving so I put together some cute gift packages with things I thought they would like, and hopefully the winners enjoy them!

TF: Do you have any sort of specific schedule for your vlog channel? How does vlogs fit into your YouTube personality?

AO: I don’t really follow a specific schedule for either channel. I find that when I just make videos on my own time they turn out better and I’m not as stressed. I try to upload at least twice a week on my main channel (if not more), and then I usually get on a kick with my vlog channel where I will upload a lot and then not upload for a little bit (boo me)…but it usually just depends on my school schedule at the moment and how much free time I have! I always LOVE going back and watching old vlogs and having those memories, so vlogging more is definitely one of my goals for the new year.

TF: On a similar note, how you decide on topics for new videos on your channel?

AO: I get inspiration from everywhere! A lot of my videos are based on what season it is. I also get ideas from Pinterest or Tumblr and different fashion trends or things I see that I think I would like to put my own spin on.

TF: In five years, do you think you’ll still be making videos? If so, do you think your style will change in noticeable ways?

AO: I hope I’m still making videos in 5 years! I would love to continue making the style of videos I make now but once I get a little too old for that I would love to switch over to daily vlogging! I would hope to get married by then and at some point have a baby, haha, I totally live for watching family vlogs so I would LOVE to do that at some point in my YouTube career!

TF: What’s next for your channel? Any fun plans?

AO: I think what’s next for my channel is just more improvement and hopefully some exciting things! I’m finally figuring out my style and how I like to film and edit, and I try to make each video better than the last. I’m such a perfectionist I like to spend a ton of time making sure I’m happy with the videos I post. I also am in the process of starting a blog so I think that will be a new and fun place for people to connect with me! It will basically be a place with all my videos, tweets, and pictures combined, as well as posts about other things I am doing! I’ve been really into blogs lately so I thought it would be fun to start my own!
