Must-Watch Music Videos: Le1f Takes You On A Relaxing, Sweaty ‘Spa Day’

[Editor’s Note: Two major trends have emerged in the recent history of new media: 1) Music videos are the new music and 2) YouTube is the new MTV. With that in mind and to keep you up to speed with the greatest and latest in this online video category, Tubefilter has partnered with INDMUSIC, YouTube’s largest independent music network, to bring you at least one must-watch music video every week. Turn up your volume and we hope you enjoy the analysis, sites, and sounds. For more Must-Watch Music Video installments, click here.]

In addition to dope rhymes and sick collaborations, Greedhead signee Le1f is quickly becoming known for his outlandish videos as well. If this is not your first foray into the bombastic mind of the “out and proud” NYC rapper, I’ll go ahead and assume you’re already fiending for more. The awesomeness of his video catalog  continues on his latest mix tape Fly Zone

“Spa Day” is definitely one of the sweatiest and beat heavy tracks on the tape and the video certainly follows suit. I’ve never been to a spa before, but if a typical spa day is anything like this, I’m booking my stay at Canyon Ranch ASAP. I just don’t think I can pull off the pink tube socks in the spa quite as well as LE1F, but then again who can?

Filmed in the famed and slightly hush hush after hours party spot and legit spa known to locals (e.g. me) as Body By Brooklyn, the video also boasts a number of cameos. If you caught label-mates Lakutis and Heems (R.I.P. Das Racist), grooving in the background then you get bonus points.

LE1F is heading out on an international tour this summer and then back stateside this fall with House of Ladosha, so if you don’t think you’ll be able to join him for his next spa day, check out these dates; and don’t forget to don your best cashmere robe at the show.
