FEARnet’s ‘Zombie Roadkill’ Trailer Leaked

Ain’t It Cool News leaked the highly anticipated Zombie Roadkill trailer (check it out) featuring Academy-Award nominated actor Thomas Hayden Church (Spider-Man 3, Sideways, Wings).

Zombie Roadkill co-stars Church as a “tough as nails” Park Ranger that teams up with an unsuspecting teenager played by David Dorfman (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Ring) to try to escape, according to the FEARnet press release, “a cursed stretch of highway that resurrects roadkill in the form flesh eating zombie animals.”

The trailer features Church as himself, an Honorary Park Service Ranger, who gives a public service announcement about “the majesty and splendor of our American parks and forests” that is suddenly cut short by an undead animal attack. The series will premiere in Austin, TX at Fantastic Fest next month and will air on FEARnet.com on October 4.

Zombie Roadkill centers around a group of college kids as they are driving on an unfamiliar road. Everything seems fit for a road trip to the lake but, when the group accidentally runs over an unsuspecting squirrel, they quickly realize there will be a price to pay. The cursed road brings the zombie squirrel back.

The series marks the fourth FEARnet project from Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures. The six episode horror-comedy was written by Henry Gayden and directed by David Green. Like FEARnet’s successful series Fear Clinic, which took home a Streamy Award for best Best Visual Effects, Zombie Roadkill promises some spectacular special effects, thanks to Frank Langley and Tom Bacho of Quantum FX (Where the Wild Things Are, Star Trek, Watchmen), who were brought on to bring the terrifying creatures to life.
