The first annual OnfrontNYC is just around the corner.  We wanted to update on our process and progress, and give many of you more time to submit!

Our objective for this event is to raise the profile of advertising in digital entertainment with a showcase that articulates the range, engagement and dynamism of video content created for the web. At the same time, we’re devoted to a format that will keep advertisers in the audience engaged.

That said, we’re flattered by the overwhelming interest in the Onfronts, and we’ve been faced with some very tough decisions. We’ve settled on a select group of content partners whose combined presentations, we believe, will best illustrate the range of advertising possibilities in online entertainment. In the interest of a compelling presentation, we limited ourselves to twenty partners.

Also, on May 29, we’ll announce 10 independent shows — not yet attached to distributors or advertisers — that have been selected for special screening at the event.

With the possible exception of one or two top secret, never-before-seen web series sneak previews, all content screened at the event, from well-funded studios to break-out independents, will be featured on our custom OnfrontNYC mobile application developed by our good friends at Metranome.  This application will be made available to all attendees of The Onfronts.

We’ve seen some incredible work from independent producers, and we’re eager for more. For a chance to have your independent show screened at Onfront NYC, please submit by our extended deadline, Thursday, May 21!

We see the Onfronts becoming much more than the showcase and reception that will comprise the first event. This is the first step in creating an offline venue to promote creativity at the crossroads of media and advertising.
