The sixteen-episode series is created and directed by Lauren Iungerich, who had previously directed Swatek in the Funny Or Die web series Dating for Dumbasses. Todd Felix and Bill Escudier star as Kate’s two “fans,” Franklin and Teddy, devotedly picking up after her dating mishaps and other twists of life.
Sawtek seemed excited to be back on the web when we asked her about the new series:
I’m giddy about this project. Obviously, I had been introduced to the world of episodic web series having worked on Quarterlife—the “pioneer” of it all. I knew then that it was something I wanted to continue doing because the experience was so unique in all the right ways. I liken it to what independent film making was back in the late 80’s and early 90’s. You don’t have the constraints of studios or networks. There’s no one forcing you to give up your vision in order to make it commercial—no “notes,” no cast contingencies. You have the freedom to make your creative vision as you intended—a rarity these days.”
My Two Fans can be caught on KoldCastTV after recently signing a distribution deal with the online network. New episodes premiere every Monday and Thursday.
