Series Premiere of Prom Queen

Prom Queen Yesterday saw the series premiere of Prom Queen, which is essentially SamHas7Friends in its tone, its 90-second daily episode format, and its plotline following an attractive young girl as all the foreboding portents point towards inevitable demise. This probably has something to do with the fact that Prom Queen is produced and created by Big Fantastic, LLC, the same people behind SamHas7Friends. But this series is geared towards a high school audience. Sponsored by the remake of Hairspray that’s due out this summer, Prom Queen follows similar high school antics with similar pretty young folk as deadly circumstances emerge during their last two months of senior year, the deadly prom queen campaign season. Although the second episode is already out, the premiere followed the scantily-clad Danica as she woke up near a tree, stumbled into her home, downed a few pills, and presumably got ready for class. But not before turning off a video camera that was conspicuously left running and aimed at her bed from the night before. It seems like it’s going to be a good run. I’ll be disappointed if no one gets a vat of pig’s blood dropped on their head by the season finale, though.
