More online network competition. People like us rejoice.

Famed peer-to-peer network BitTorrent is planning to launch an online video network with original programming. The announcement was made on Tuesday at MediaPost’s Online Media, Marketing, and Advertising Conference at a discussion with the promising title of “Big Media—Disintegrated.” Oops. Freudian slip. Eric Patterson, the company’s Vice President and General Manager of Consumer Services, said, “We see us moving to an advertising-supported model at the end of the year so people can consume TV shows in the same way they consume programs on television.”
