Ethan Klein says he is “urgently” working with wife Hila to remove all his ownership and financial stakes in their podcasts, businesses, and “any joint venture that I would profit from” after she discovered he’d been cheating on her.

In an Oct. 22 Instagram post, Hila wrote that she is “living a nightmare I can’t wake up from.”

“My husband has been having an affair. I have been fed lie after lie for months,” she continued. “Eventually, he was caught in a lie, and I knew I was done. But the lies continued. ‘It was just a kiss’ became ‘it was emotional cheating.’ After I dragged these lies from him, he finally admitted he’d been in an affair for over 6 months, the extent of which I’m sure I still don’t know.”

Following her post, the crew of the Kleins’ long-running H3 Podcast made their own, saying they “stand with Hila and will support her every step of the way.”

“We’re disgusted by Ethan’s actions and the hurt he has caused. We all deserved better: Hila, us, and you,” they wrote. “As soon as we found out, we all agreed: we would not continue working with Ethan involved or profiting in any way.”

At the time, the staff said they didn’t yet know what that would mean for the future of their jobs or the Kleins’ businesses. The H3 Podcast (which started in 2016, runs every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and gets around 12.5 million views a month on YouTube) was put on indefinite hiatus.

But after Ethan’s Oct. 23 statement saying he’s detangling from his and Hila’s podcasts, Hila’s companies Teddy Fresh and Teddy Glow, and all other enterprises, it’s possible Hila and the staff will continue on as usual without him.

“All of your support will go directly to Hila and the Crew [sic] without the concern of enriching me,” he wrote, also on Instagram. “I know the crew will make an awesome show, they are packed to the brim with the most talented, creative, hilarious and all around great people.”

The Kleins met in Israel in 2007, launched their YouTube channel h3h3Productions in 2011, and married in 2012. They have three sons.
