The top five channels in this week’s U.S. Top 50 are also the only five U.S.-based channels that got more than 400 million views during our previous seven-day measurement period. The also-rans (i.e. the channels that had between 100 million and 400 million weekly views) will have to settle for the next 45 places.

A double-dip for Fabiosa
The presence of family channels in the U.S. Top 50 is not news, as they dominate the ranking week in and week out. The more notable competition is the race between the family channels run by independent creators (like J House jr, the new #1 in the U.S. Top 50) and those run by media companies (like Toys and Colors, which J House jr. replaced in the #1 spot).
But just because Toys and Colors’ month-long streak of #1s is over, that doesn’t mean the media companies are sleeping in the current U.S. Top 50. In fact, one of them even has two representatives in the chart. Fabiosa is present with a channel called Fabiosa Stories (#9) and Fabiosa Best Lifehacks (#13). And both of those channels have seen huge growth since the most recent school year let out.
That’s some fabulous traffic for Fabiosa, and its no surprise that the veteran producer of YouTube content is currently thriving. It has all the resources it needs to keep up with the demands of the Shorts algorithm, and that gives it a boost over its competition.
Dogs on skateboards are back, baby!
The concept of “dogs on skateboards” as a representation for YouTube’s vast library of user-generated content is almost as old as the platform itself. It all dates back to a single dog (RIP Tillman) and his penchant for shredding.
Tillman is no longer with us, but FADY Fily is keeping the dogs-on-skateboards spirit alive. Just click on the link there and look at that little guy. He looks like he knows his Nosebone from his No Comply (and he probably likes the one with the bone).
FADY Fily is one of several channels in the U.S. Top 50 to get millions of views on animal videos. In that category, the canine hub joins Mischievous Elephant (#41) and PRVNCI (#24) in the ranking. But FADY Fily is notable for making its first-ever appearance in the chart, moving all the way up to 44th place.
The actual videos on the FADY Fily channel don’t seem to have any dogs on skateboards, but I’m nevertheless attributing the channel’s success to its thumbnail. Tillman is a YouTube legend, and it’s nice to see his impact of his canine legacy.
A neat hack for cooking videos
At face value, Bobby Parrish‘s YouTube channel seems like a typical destination for cooking hacks. In recent long-form videos, Parrish has helped his viewers find deals at chains like Aldi and Costco. He even sells products of his own through a hub called FlavCity.
But those helpful hacks don’t quite explain why Parrish has nearly seven million subscribers and more than 3.3 billion lifetime views on his YouTube channel. The secret of his success isn’t his grocery store knowledge or his tips for protein-packed smoothies — it’s his daughter Rose, who appears in all of his most-watched YouTube Shorts clips.
Rose is a budding chef who, like her father, has a passion for food. She even cleans up after herself when she makes a mess while cooking brownies. That makes her a more responsible cook than I am, and I’m a little older than two.
Little Rose has starred as Parrish has found his way into the U.S. Top 50. He occupies the 50th and final spot during the week ending on October 20. With 104.3 million weekly views, he’s a creator worth watching on YouTube, especially if he continues to share the spotlight with his amateur co-star.
Channel Distribution
