Recent criticisms aimed at MrBeast could have legal ramifications for both the creator and his critics. The YouTube superstar born Jimmy Donaldson has reportedly hired Alex Spiro, a celebrity lawyer whose clients have included Elon Musk, Megan Thee Stallion, and Alec Baldwin.
News of Spiro’s partnership with MrBeast comes from the British tabloid Daily Mail, which shared the text of a cease-and-desist letter the lawyer reportedly sent to DogPack404. That’s the social media alias used by a former MrBeast employee. Across multiple videos, DogPack has called out Donaldson’s behavior and perceived lack of high morals. According to DogPack, Donaldson is a fraud who rigs his videos and a sociopath who treats his employees poorly.
With those videos, DogPack has dogpiled on top of MrBeast, who has faced a wave of criticism related to various aspects of his business. Among other complaints, Donaldson’s detractors have called out the grueling production of his Amazon original Beast Games, the predatory behavior of one-time MrBeast accomplices like Ava Kris Tyson, and the inappropriate language used in early MrBeast videos.

Spiro’s correspondence with DogPack gives us an idea of how Donaldson is responding to those allegations. The powerful attorney’s firm, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, is conducting the internal review Donaldson launched in the wake of the criticisms against him. As Spiro and co. look outward, they’re believed to be targeting individuals who are “latching on to the recent problems for clout or clicks,” as the Daily Mail put it.
DogPack is one of those targets. The cease-and-desist letter identifies him as Dawson French and accuses him of spreading “false and defamatory allegations” about MrBeast. “You have no understanding of the inner workings of MrBeast given that you only spent three weeks at the company on a trial basis before you were fired for conduct even you have characterized as inappropriate,” the letter reads.
French’s comment on the Daily Mail report referenced the “rapists and pedophiles” MrBeast has allegedly kept on his payroll. Those individuals are supposed to be the subject of the third video in DogPack’s MrBeast series, though Spiro’s cease-and-desist could put the kibosh on French’s plans.
Details about one of those sex offenders have already been provided by Jake Franklin, who took to X to discuss the criminal history of his brother-in-law, a former MrBeast employee. Ludwig Ahgren, who has talked with Donaldson about the allegations, claimed that the man known as MrBeast is planning “one reply” once all of the accusations are out in the open. Will that reply include a lawsuit filed against DogPack404? If French goes through with his third video, he may get another message from Spiro in his inbox.
