In this week’s U.S. Top 50, the name of the game is, well, names. Four of the top five channels in the chart bear the names of individuals rather than families, groups, or companies.

The gold medalist will be a familiar face to those who have followed pop music over the past two decades, though the current form of his channel may look a bit odd.
The Top 5
🥇Jason Derulo‘s activity as a serial reposter has pushed him back to the front of the U.S. Top 50. The songster known for hits like “Wiggle” and “Talk Dirty” has become one of the most familiar faces on YouTube Shorts, where he puts his face — and his music — next to some of the format’s most popular clips. That formula worked particularly well during our most recent seven-day measurement period. Derulo increased his YouTube traffic by 94% week-over-week to move into pole position in our all-American ranking. His viewership topped out at 562.5 million weekly views.
🥈Like Derulo, the #2 finisher in the U.S. Top 50 is someone who is known for his ability to aggregating fascinating scenes from across the internet. Zach D. Films finds content that ranges from heartwarming fuzzies to disturbing horror, and he ties it all together with smooth, simple narration. That formula brought him 496.2 million views during the week that was. Though his viewership declined slightly week-over-week, he surpassed 17 billion lifetime views on his primary YouTube home.
🥉J House jr. is third in the U.S. Top 50 for the second week in a row. Though our U.S. chart is typically dominated by fare intended for toddlers, J House jr. is the only entrant in this week’s top five to fit that bill. It pushed its lifetime YouTube viewership within a stone’s throw of seven billion during a week when it collected 480.4 million views and counted its eight-millionth subscriber.
🌟MrBeast had a memorable week, and not for the right reasons. As controversy swirled around the man in charge of the upcoming Amazon series Beast Games, Jimmy Donaldson also experienced a significant traffic dip on his primary YouTube channel. One week after leading our U.S. Top 50, the main MrBeast hub collected just 458.5 million weekly views. While that would be an extraordinary total for most channels, it represented a 27% week-over-week decline for MrBeast, which resulted in a fourth-place finish.
✨Alan Chikin Chow increased his YouTube traffic by 25% week-over-week, but that bump didn’t change his position in the U.S. Top 50. He finished in fifth place once again by counting 430.3 million weekly views, most of which came on his YouTube Shorts comedy videos.
Top Gainers
About once every four years, YouTube channels associated with the Olympics experience rapid growth, and the 2024 Summer Games are providing the latest example of that phenomenon. As sports fans flock to Paris to watch everything from dressage to triple jump, viewers are flocking to digital hubs that offer highlights from all the events.
In the United States, the provider in question is NBC Sports. The broadcaster behind Peacock has surged on YouTube thanks to its proliferation of all things Olympics. As the calendar turned over to August, the primary NBC Sports YouTube channel got nearly five times more views than it did during the previous week.
You would expect that the breakout Olympic stars are drawing much of that viewership, and you’d be partially right. Sure, NBC Sports viewers are in love with the super chill Turkish sport shooter, just like everyone else.
But in an ironic twist, the most watched NBC YouTube video from the 2024 Summer Games doesn’t involve a medalist. Instead, Beyonce‘s introduction of the U.S. team has hauled in more than nine million on-demand views, making it a huge hit for NBC.
In total, NBC Sports’ YouTube traffic topped out at 214.8 million weekly views. That’s a remarkable total that put the Peacock in 15th place in the U.S. Top 50, but it might not be the high-water mark for America’s official Olympics broadcaster. There’s another few days of events still to come, and if a few events break the right way (let’s go, USWNT!) NBC Sports’ digital traffic will soar even higher.
Channel Distribution
