Manassyan’s YouTube success didn’t come until later, though she started on the platform way earlier. Videos were posted up on the channel seemingly almost immediately after moving stateside. Check out another early home movie of her first piano recital uploaded back in 2016. It’s got 11K+ views.
Dance music videos followed along with a few branded Barbie spots and most recently – in the past year or so – it’s been vlog, stream-of-consciousness, talking-straight-to-the-camera-style videos shot in her or mom’s car. This one’s about her thoughts on beauty.
These long-form videos do okay in terms of views. The one above has 55K+. But that’s not the kind of content that’s catapulted Manassyan up to the #16 spot on the U.S. chart, up 33% week-over-week with over 234.6 million views. It’s the increasing number of Shorts that put her in that position. And they put her in that position fast, too.
Manassyan uploaded uploaded 106 Shorts to her channel in June. That was up from 79 in May, 64 in April, and 34 in March. That uptick in output has benefitted her channel as the content is clearly is en vogue with audiences and the algorithm. It’s happy, comical, and lets viewers into a little bit of Manassyan’s life and personality. She’s currently averaging over 3.2 million views per Short. She posted this one less than two weeks ago and it’s up to more than 40 million views.
Manassyan’s increasing viewership trajectory has matched her subscriber account. On April 1, 2024 Manassyan’s YouTube channel had 96K YouTube subscribers. Now it’s got over 2.07 million.
