Ava Kris Tyson is “permanently step[ping] away from all things MrBeast” after being accused of sending inappropriate messages to a 13-year-old when she was 20.
Screenshots of public tweets and private messages surfaced that appear to show Tyson, now 28, saying things like “I posted some fire noods for you. Pls no share” to a 13-year-old. In one screenshot, the teenager can be seen saying they got a “weird” Snapchat message from Tyson–a shot of her standing beneath an American flag with the caption “Cumming for America.” Tyson and the teen reportedly ran a Discord chat group together.

In a July 23 tweet, Tyson–who has been a core member of MrBeast’s on-camera team since his YouTube channel’s launch in 2012–called the messages “bad edgy jokes” and said, “I never groomed anyone.”
“In past years, I have learned that my old humor is not acceptable. I cannot change who I was, but I can continue to work on myself,” she said.

As part of her statement, Tyson identified the person she sent these messages to. They’re now 20, and tweeted their own statement saying, “Ava never did anything wrong and just made a few edgy jokes. I was never exploited or taken advantage of.”
Tyson said she and MrBeast “mutually decided” it’s best for her to leave the team “to focus on my family and mental health.”
“I don’t want these accusations to impact the hundreds of people who work at MrBeast, which is why I have stepped away,” she said.
MrBeast tweeted a statement about the situation July 24, saying he is hiring a third party to conduct an independent investigation about the allegations:
