MrBeast crosses 300 million YouTube subscribers. He gets 50 of the top creators in the world to compete for $1 million to (kinda) celebrate.

Jimmy Donaldson and his MrBeast YouTube channel are on a recent spree of checking off lifetime online video accomplishments like they’re something on a daily to-do list.

  • Pass T-Series to become the most subscribed YouTube channel of all time. ✔️ MrBeast passed the Indian multimedia conglomerate on June 2, 2024, 1,876 days after T-Series passed PewDiePie to claim #1 spot.
  • Claim 28 million subscribers in one month on YouTube. ✔️ In his stratospheric ascent to have the #1 most subscribed YouTube channel in the world, Donaldson racked up an incredible 28 million additional subscribers in June 2024. But what’s almost unbelievable is 24 million of the 28 million subscribers came after MrBeast had already surpassed T-Series.
  • Become the first YouTube channel ever to cross 300 million subscribers. ✔️ It only took Jimmy 38 days to go from 270 million (when MrBeast passed T-Series) to 300 million subscribers. That averages out to 789,473 subscribers per day, 32,894 per hour, 548 per minute, and 9.137 subscribers every second.
  • Make his “biggest video ever” with 50 of the top creators in the world. ✔️

To be clear, MrBeast has a new “biggest video ever” about every year. Here’s the breakdown in the recent past:

But that last one hits different. The sheer amount of coordination and gravitational pull a creator must have in order to get 50 of the top creators in the world to add “Be in an epic MrBeast video” to their production calendars is incredibly impressive. Individuals with massive audiences from all over the world flew into Greenville, North Carolina to get stuck and potentially sleep in a red square, break Dalgona candies, play Jenga, and compete in a variation of Carrot in a Box all for the reward of $1 million to be dispersed among their fans in whatever way they choose. Unsurprisingly, the video is very popular. (And videos about the video from creators in the video are very popular, too. Like this one from Logan Paul, this one from Pokimane, this one from JSchlatt on an old school camera, this one from FaZe Rug, a lot more.)

50 YouTubers Fight For $1,000,000 has become MrBeast’s most viewed video ever in its first 24 hours with over 70 million views. (The record for 24-hour viewership is still held by Grand Theft Auto VI trailer from December 2023. That video got 93 million views in 24 hours.)

Samsung‘s gotta be happy about those figures, too. The electronics brand sponsored the video and features heavily in at least one part of the competition, where the Samsung Galaxy Ring and Z Flip6 are used to take and monitor creators’ hear rates while they may or may not be lying to one another.

Donaldson continues to churn out content while he staffs up and starts production for his $100 million Amazon series dubbed Beast Games. Donaldson has promised multiple times the series is going to be bigger than anything he’s done before. With videos like 50 YouTubers Fight For $1,000,000, he’s setting a helluva bar.
