Colleen Ballinger tries to ukelele her way out of grooming allegations

For the first three seconds of her most recent YouTube video, Colleen Ballinger (aka Miranda Sings) stares sadly at the floor.

Then she reaches over and grabs a ukelele.

She spends the next ten minutes strumming and singing about how allegations that she sent sexual messages to underage fans are all part of a “toxic gossip train” full of “lies and rumors that you made up for clout.”

These allegations first surfaced in 2020, when former fan Adam McIntyre began posting about interactions he had with Ballinger when he was between the ages of 13 and 16. McIntyre (who’s now 20) was part of a core cohort of teenage fans in a group chat with Ballinger called “Colleeny’s Weenies.” Ballinger responded to some of his allegations in 2020, admitting that she’d sent him a pair of her underwear and calling the decision to do so “completely stupid.”

But McIntyre has since come forward with multiple screenshots taken by another member of the group chat that appear to show Ballinger asking McIntyre (then 14) if he was a virgin. She then allegedly asked which sex position he preferred. McIntyre says these sorts of conversations happened frequently, with Ballinger describing details of her sex life with now ex-husband Joshua Evans.

In a separate incident, McIntyre (still 14) texted the group that his “ass looked good” that day. Ballinger allegedly responded, “pics Adam.”

Ballinger’s 10-minute ukelele solo (which starts with her noting that her team “has strongly advised me to not say what I want to say, but they never said I couldn’t sing what I want to say”) does not address any of McIntyre’s allegations directly. The only specific incident it mentions is one where Ballinger invited a young girl onstage with her during a Miranda Sings tour and held the girl’s legs spread open while a fart noise played over the speakers.

“I’m not a predator even a lot of you think so / because five years ago I made a fart joke,” Ballinger sings.

She adds that she’s “not a groomer, just a loser” and pitches herself as a “weird aunt” who “was just trying to be besties with everybody” and “didn’t understand I shouldn’t respond to fans.”

Ballinger’s video went live around 24 hours ago, and has gotten nearly 3 million views. It’s also been widely deemed one of the worst YouTuber responses of all time.

After Ballinger posted the video, McIntyre tweeted, “as much as colleen discredited & made fun of me, im glad her video did ONE thing, show you all EXACTLY the type of evil woman she is, that a lot of us have experienced over the past few years behind the scenes, the mask has slipped…everyone meet the REAL colleen ballinger.”
