The organizers of new YouTuber event FamFest have decided to postpone their inaugural gathering due to concerns about COVID-19.
FamFest’s debut was set to take place at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, Calif., on June 20 and 21. Put together by Singapore-based influencer talent agency Gushcloud, the fest is designed to be a laid-back, all-ages gathering with a carnival-like environment where YouTube creators and fans (as well as their families) from around the world can mingle. Featured guests locked in for the first year include children’s educational brand and “Baby Shark” creator Pinkfong (30.2 million YouTube subscribers) as well as notable content creators like Family Fun Pack (9.16 million) and Kyler and Mad (3.93 million).
The first FamFest will now take place in summer 2021.
“Due to the nature of FamFest and in light of the recent precautions taken worldwide to reduce the risks of coronavirus, we feel it’s the right decision,” Kenn Henman, Gushcloud’s chief talent officer, tells Tubefilter. “We look forward to bringing FamFest back next year and producing the largest two-day event dedicated to family creators and their fans.”
All purchased tickets are being 100% refunded immediately, he says.
