Bethany Mota has some mobile application preferences she wants you to know about. The beauty and fashion vlogger who commands an impressive 7.8 million subscriber base told Business Insider about her current seven favorite smartphone apps.
Mota explained on camera to BI at its recent Ignition Conference how she always has her phone on her and has to let people know she’s not being rude when she looks at it. “It’s part of my job,” she explained. “It’s what I do.” Several of her favorite apps reflect her digital career, as she named Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and VSCO Cam’s apps as four of her top favorites. Spotify and Songza help her personalize and discover her music options, and though she doesn’t have a lot of games, she defaults to Fruit Ninja when she wants to play something fun.
Mota previously appeared at a presentation during BI’s Ignition conference where she discussed her preference for her YouTube career over TV opportunities. She explained she had more freedom to “have an idea and just go with it” on YouTube as opposed to dealing with the restrictions and approval processes in traditional television. The fashion vlogger had just finished a stint on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, and ended up finishing in fourth place.
Several of Mota’s fellow YouTubers already have their own apps, like Olga Kay, Smosh, and PewDiePie. It may only be a matter of time before the fashion vlogger joins them with her own release (though for now she’s content to launch retail clothing lines with Aeropostale).
