Game of Thrones debuts its third season tonight, and the Internet is super excited. Here are a few themed videos we’ve seen on YouTube over the past few days.
- The show, of course, has its own thriving YouTube channel, best known for posting the show’s trailers. Recently, it’s hosted a plethora of other videos, including a cool mash-up of various performances of the song at its New York City premiere.
- Covering the theme song seems to be the most popular Game of Thrones video type. Though Lindsay Stirling already posted her version six months ago, fellow YouTube violinist Taylor Davis has offered her own, moodier effort.
- Still, the award for wackiest Thrones cover goes to DJ Flula.
- The Young Turks will discuss the premiere extensively on their What The Flick? channel.
- Official Comedy has likened Jon Snow to Drake by noting how they both ‘Started at the Bottom.‘ They’ve taken things one step further by having everyone’s favorite Stark bastard child spin a nice rap for us.
- Looking for a themed meal to serve at your next watch party? Nerdist‘s Dork Fork has taken on the HBO series with a nice dinner of spiced wine and crown roast. Nerdist performers and Grace Helbig show up to indulge in the eats and, in Grace’s case, cosplay ill-fittingly as Mulan.
We should see plenty more videos as we learn what surprises are in store this season. For my money, this is still the best Game of Thrones video on YouTube, but it has mighty competition.
