‘GOLD’ Launches Guide to Competitive Gaming

Streamy Award nominated web series GOLD The Series has teamed up with roleplaying game publishing house 4 Winds Fantasy Gaming to present The GOLD Guide to Competitive Gaming, set for release in November 2011.

Since its launch in 2008, GOLD The Series has released the GOLD Character Card Game, Season 1 on DVD, and the dramatic miniseries Night of the Zombie King, proving there can be more creative approach to web series merch than funny t-shirts and pinup calendars.

The GOLD Guide to Competitive Gaming features a collection of essays about roleplaying games, written by the GOLD team, along with 30 or so of the RPG industry’s recognized writers and game designers, including RPG stars Keith Baker, Monte Cook, and Ed Greenwood.

The anthology also features contributions from some unexpected sources like Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe, actor Matthew Mercer, and filmmaker Ben Dobyns. Additionally, the book will feature essays from some of the fictional characters from GOLD and Night of the Zombie King.

“We’re so honored to be collaborating with Robert and these amazing writers,” said GOLD creator David Nett. ”These are the people who keep the RPG industry running—I’ve been reading some of their work for decades. For the GOLD team, a bunch of kids who grew up on RPGs, this is a dream come true.”
