February Big Screen Little Screen – New York Web TV Meetup with IFC Tonight!

Tonight is the debut of the first of many Big Screen Little Screen – The New York Web TV Meetup events in NYC and we’re thrilled to start things off with a conversation with Independent Film Channel.

IFC was one of the early entrants from established media into the world of online original series (Getting Away with Murder was released in May 2007), and over the past two years VP of Digital Media, Craig Parks and Executive Producer, Colin Moore have transformed the cable network’s outlook and positioning on online video. What was once and ancillary product to the television channel is now a innovative distribution mechanism for quality, independent programming in its own right.

We’re very much looking forward to learning more about IFC’s original web series and hearing how it plans to use its Automat programming block to give great, independent web content a boost in exposure.

If you’re at tonight’s event, be sure to say hey to Jamison. And our apologies to everyone who has e-mailed and expressed concern about the limited capacity. The venue filled up very

quickly. We’re working on a location for next month that will be able to accommodate a lot more of you. 🙂

Big Screen Little Screen – The New York Web TV Meetup is a monthly event devoted to celebrating and supporting innovation on the creative side of web video and the exploding online entertainment industry. Each month, we’ll take an in-depth look at the processes and people behind some of the most successful entertainment products created for broadband distribution, followed by networking with industry peers, artists, executives, producers, and up-and-comers.

Presented by Tilzy.TV and NYU-Stern Media Sports and Entertainment Association in association with 10Ton, The Producers Guild of America New Media Council, and ForYourImagination, the event is an opportunity to meet and engage movers and shakers in the digital entertainment industry, a community dedicated to growing, exploring, and innovating with a dynamic new medium.

If you’d like to present at or host Big Screen Little Screen, please email us at info(at)tilzy(dot)tv.
