What’s better for some buzz about your new brand than a web series? A web series with Heidi Klum, of course.
The uber-model-cum-internet-star takes on Spiked Heel, in which an alter-world Fashion Week is threatened by imminent demise from a death-ray poised for destruction. Only the superpowers of “The Kluminator” could save the day…so says the legend.
Check out the trailer…
The series was created as a promotion for Modelina, “the first entertainment web destination dedicated to the life of the Supermodel,” which secured $5 Million in venture financing last Apirl. It seems positioned to become an interactive Project Runway, or a higher class Ford Models TV.
The comic-book aesthetic is well executed with shiny graphics intercut with quippy one-liners and money shots of Ms. Kluminator. Interestingly, it feels surprisingly similar to New York Magazines Where’s Rogan, which also aimed for the fashion-forward.
And, though the fun-lovin trailer has already seen some attention, the concept may or may not have the legs of its star. A nice headline doesn’t always make an enduring entertainment product, and this series has a bit left to prove. But maybe it’ll reveal something substantive when it launches at Modelina.com at midnight on February 16.
