To me, the notion doesn’t sound so novel.  I know a handful of Bloggers-in-Chief, but when NBC News runs a story (seamlessly embedded below) about the 76-year-old CEO of Marriott

who writes blog posts by hand because he never learned to type, I’m reminded of the transformative power of new media.

It’s enabled a new age of creative innovation in arts and entertainment and, also, a world in which dialogue, transparency and trust have become incredibly effective marketing tools for some of the oldest, and most respected, consumer brands.  It doesn’t get much better than that.
