Periscope Competitor Stre.am Launches White Label Streaming Service For Businesses

Two-year-old livestreaming app Stre.am has launched today a B2B product called Stre.am Enterprise that will enable businesses to deploy live video feeds from their own digital properties.

Stre.am Enterprise is launching with several partners in fields like sports, music, and media — including Arsenic Magazine and the Volvo Car Open, a women’s tennis tournament. The white label product hopes to ultimately enable brands and publishers to build a platform-agnostic livestreaming business, the Charleston, S.C.-based company says.

“Incorporating live video holistically into premium media programming — up-leveling the quality and delivery of live video in the process — is what we’re doing,” Stre.am CMO Will Jamieson said in a statement. (Jamieson is also a co-founder of location-based social network Yik Yak.)

Stre.am Enterprise is capable of handling several simultaneous live video feeds at sub two-second latency and utilizes no third-party servers, the company says, to deliver what it calls the best speeds on the market. Additionally, streams can be deployed from smartphones, GoPros, and other devices, and can be viewed on mobile devices as well as desktops.

While the Volvo Car Open streamed multiple on-court angles during the tournament earlier this month, Snapchat channel-turned-online magazine Arsenic will experiment with more video on its flagship site on the heels of the partnership.

Additional Stre.am Enterprise partners include professional soccer club Charleston Battery, Whistle Sports, Brandon Biebel Skate Park, and multiplayer mobile game Vainglory.

Stre.am has been used for the past 2 years by the Jacksonville Jaguars in a unique partnership that allows football fans to act as amateur sports broadcasters. As the team’s managers peruse streams being deployed by Stre.am users in real-time, they can select their favorite streams to be rebroadcast on screens throughout the stadium as well as on a dedicated website.
