Adriene Mishler, Ryan Cooper To Star In Second Season Of Rooster Teeth’s ‘Day 5’

Rooster Teeth has made several casting announcements this morning for Day 5, its first-ever drama series that follows the survivors of a fatal epidemic whereby falling asleep is promptly deadly.

Day 5, which is currently in production on season two, will feature guest stars William Sadler (Iron Man 3), who will play an elusive figure in the Mojave Desert that  has the power to let people sleep safely again, while Jake Busey (The Predator) will play a military commander who discovers a unique method for remaining awake.

Series regulars for season two, meanwhile, will include Ryan Cooper (Rough Night, The Deleted), Electra Avellan (The Son), and Adriene Mishler (who also headlines a popular YouTube fitness channel called Yoga With Adriene). Cooper will play an Australian survivalist traveling the world in hopes of finding a safe sleep zone; Avellan will play Paula, a Honduran immigrant fighting to keep her young son awake; and Mishler will play a seasoned war journalist chasing the ultimate lead. They join season one staples Jesse C. Boyd, Walker Satterwhite, Stephanie Drapeau, and Davi Jay.

“We’re excited to grow the Day 5 roster with a host of awesome new talent,” said series co-creator and showrunner Josh Flanagan. “Bill, Jake, Ryan, Electra, and Adriene add a wealth of experience to the project, and help us bring new, fun, and occasionally insane characters to life as we expand our view of ‘The Big Sleep’ to a global scale.”

Day 5 has been compared to Lost and The Walking Dead, according to Rooster Teeth. Season one comprised six episodes. The show is exclusively available via First, the Austin-based studio’s subscription service, for which membership starts at $5 per month.
