Jukin Media’s Web Series On Comcast’s Watchable Expresses Human Thoughts Through Animals

Jukin Media has offered up its contribution to the slate of original programming on Comcast’s Watchable platform. That contribution is Awesome Pet Thoughts, which uses voiceovers to express typical human anxieties through adorable animals.

Awesome Pet Thoughts makes use of Jukin’s massive library of user-generated clips, which includes plenty of videos that star cute fauna. Jukin’s in-house team wrote a series of scripts that tie those clips together in humorous and anthropomorphic ways, and a dozen voice artists came together to bring those scripts to life. The result is a show that talks about particularly man-made problems, including hangovers and inter-office hookups, through a cast of characters who span the animal kingdom. It will be of particular interests to fans of the BBC’s talking animal clips, which have drawn millions of views on YouTube.

Here’s one of the first five episodes, in which a number of animals attempt to coordinate their mornings together after attending a massive rager hosted by a gorilla named Becky.

“We wanted to create a humanlike world occupied only by pets. So we started conceptualizing what a modern-day sitcom would be strictly using pet content,” said Josh Entman, Jukin Media’s Co-Founder and Chief Development Officer, in a press release. “Turns out, pets are just as ridiculous as the rest of us.”

Awesome Pet Thoughts joins the other original programs on Watchable, including the recently-launched unscripted series Logan Paul Vs. Both these shows, as well as several others, are available on Watchable’s website, its mobile apps, and its hub on Xfinity’s X1 service. Five episodes of Awesome Pet Thoughts are available now, with 15 more set to roll out in the coming weeks.
