Justin Timberlake is bringing Justin Timberlake back. To music.
It’s been over six years since Timberlake released FutureSex/LoveSounds and the 12-track record began spinning its way towards 4X Platinum certification. In fact, the biggest musician to come out of a family and/or boy band since Michael Jackson has only released two studio albums in the past ten years, all the while adding a few dozen credits to his acting resume (which has brought JT acclaim ranging from very positive to kinda meh).
But it now would look and sound like the 31-year-old newlywed is ready drop a new release on the world. Timberlake posted a video on Tuesday to his woefully underused YouTube account, teasing an imminent return to music.

The 60-second vid features Timberlake’s inner monologue over his determined walk into a recording booth, where the multi-hyphenate pop star finally proclaims, “I’m ready.”

I’m pumped for JT’s return to music. And the video is a fantastic tease with its dreamlike intro devoid of ambient noise, crisp voice-over, and dramatic lighting when Timberlake steps to the mic, but it all begs one question. Why didn’t he release it on Myspace?
