Bored Ape Yacht Club’s ‘Jenkins The Valet’ Signs With CAA As Entertainment Industry Sees Value In NFTs

Yet another non-fungible token (NFT) project has been signed by a major Hollywood talent agency to translate the crypto collectibles into more traditional entertainment formats.

After Cryptopunks was signed by UTA in August, CAA has now pacted with an NFT venture called Jenkins The Valet for representation across books, film, TV, podcasts, and more. The Jenkins The Valet Twitter account announced the signing today.

Jenkins The Valet actually emerged from a larger NFT project called the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BYAC), which bowed last April.

BYAC is a collection of 10,000 NFTs living on the Ethereum blockchain that were programmatically generated from over 170 different visual traits, including facial expressions, coloring, clothing, and more. (Jenkins is Ape No. 1,798, bedecked in what appears to be valet attire). At launch, Apes were priced at 0.08 ETH, or roughly $250. Now, the NFTs are owned by celebs like KSI and Stephen Curry, and in September, a set of 107 Apes sold for a staggering $24.4 million at Sotheby’s.
