2014 Reel Video Summit Has A Stellar Lineup, Grilled Gurus

Tubefilter helps you discover and keep track of the industry events and programming worth caring about. And one of the upcoming industry events worth caring about is the 2014 Reel Video Summit, which will be held July 24-25 at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco.

Like the Tubefilter Hollywood Meetup, the ReelSummit is packed with presentations and panels from the top individuals and companies shaping the future of our industry. For example, this year’s keynote speakers include:

  • Jonathan Perelman, GM of Video & VP Agency Strategy at BuzzFeed;
  • Jeroen “JW” Wijering, creator of the incredibly successful JW Media Players;
  • Jon Klaff, Head of Media Solutions, Brand Activation Team at Google/YouTube;
  • Jim Louderback, General Manager of Discovery Digital Networks;
  • Rob Davis, Executive Director/Founder of the Content Marketing & Advanced Video Practices at Ogilvy;
  • Allison Stern, Co-Founder of Tubular Labs.

There are also in-depth sessions that Tubefilter readers won’t want to miss. That includes “Storytelling Formulas for Retail & E-Commerce Video,” which features leaders from Zappos.com, Crutchfield, Ogilvy, and Invodo. As well as panels like “Micro-Video Strategies – Effective Marketing on Vine & Instagram,” which features Brands like Oreo, Dunkin Donuts, Ford, Samsung, Target, and Mini. There’s a business-to-consumer session, too, entitled, “YouTube Strategies for Brands,” which features speakers from Pepsico, Discovery, and VICE.

There’s also a series of pre-Summit training workshops on “YouTube SEO & Audience Development for Marketers”, “Become an Expert in YouTube TrueView Advertising”, and “Branded Video Content Development – from Ideation to Creation.”

The 2014 Reel Video Summit says the event is “where marketers, brands, retailers & storytellers gather to get serious about the business of video.” And the ReelSummit takes its slogan seriously. That’s why Tubefilter is a Media Partner. And that’s also why we can offer you a 35% discount if you use this link to register for this industry event.

But, there’s something else on the agenda that features a very different format. It’s called “Grill the Gurus.”

So, how does this new type of session work? “Grill the Gurus” is a great opportunity for attendees to the 2014 Reel Video Summit to learn, network, and share information with their peers and industry professionals. You will have a wide range of industry topics and tables to choose from and can sit down in a low-key, small group setting and enjoy relaxed conversation while engaging in thought-provoking discussions on any of the relevant and valuable topics.

Each roundtable features two gurus. All you need to do is simply choose the topic that is most pertinent and important to you and join the discussion! You can also move freely between roundtables to make sure you get the most out of this session. “Grill the Gurus” takes place immediately before the Opening Reception Party to enable you to get discussions started before continuing them over a few drinks!

The topics that you can grill the gurus about include:

  • Website Video SEO;
  • YouTube SEO;
  • Live Video Streaming;
  • YouTube TrueView Advertising;
  • YouTube Audience Development;
  • Closed Captions, Translations, Subtitles;
  • Music Licensing & Copyrights.

And the gurus that you can grill include: Allison Stern, Ben Pickering, Bern RexerBrendan GahanCJ BruceGreg JarboeJen GrogonoJenn MillerJeroen “JW” WijeringManny RivasMark RobertsonRob CiampaRob DavisSam MoserTim PriesTole KhesinTom Wilde, and Walt Mann.

In some cases, you may be more interested is grilling a specific guru than in grilling a guru on a particular topic. That’s your call. If you take advantage of Tubefilter’s 35% discount and register for the 2014 Reel Video Summit, let us know what you think of “Grill the Gurus.” If this fascinating format works for you, then it can be “borrowed” for the next Tubefilter Meetup – with a tip of the cap to the ReelSummit (and our media partner’s permission, too).
