YouTube’s iOS App Now Dynamically Adapts To Different Video Orientations

You may have noticed a welcome change to your YouTube app in recent days, as an update announced by the video giant back in June has finally gone live.

The app now dynamically adapts to the size and format of any video — be it vertical, horizontal, or square — and configures to display the clip without any cumbersome black bars. Now, square and vertical videos will fill up the screen, 9 To 5 Google notes, with the remaining space being filled with suggested videos. Users can tap a ‘fullscreen’ icon, however, so that vertically-oriented videos take up the full display.
