VidCon announces Featured Creators, opens ticket sales for inaugural Baltimore event

VidCon‘s visit to Charm City will feature a mix of Maryland-based creators and international influencers. The online video convention has opened ticket sales and revealed the first batch of Featured Creators for VidCon Baltimore, which will hit the East Coast between September 29 and October 1, 2023.

As VidCon ventures to a U.S. city other than Anaheim for the first time, it is making sure to include some local favorites in its festivities. The list of Featured Creators for VidCon Baltimore includes three individuals who won’t have to travel far: funnyman Rich Black Guy, animator CircleToonsHD, and Streamy winner ContraPoints. They’ll be joined by some of the most familiar faces in online video, including The Merrell Twins and Aimsey.

VidCon will hit the Baltimore Convention Center three months after the organizer’s flagship event reconvenes at the Anaheim Convention Center. Some of the stars who have been selected as Featured Creators for VidCon Baltimore — such as SeanDoesMagic and Ranboo — will have the same status at the 2023 Anaheim event.

There will also be some differences between VidCon Baltimore and its West Coast analog. For starters, the former event will offer cheaper tickets. A one-day Community Track pass costs $39, and fans can get in on all three days of the action for $69. Online video professionals can access workshops, keynotes, and panels by picking up a $499 Industry Track pass. The equivalent prices for the upcoming edition of VidCon Anaheim are $65, $135, and $799.

VidCon announced its Baltimore event last September. Fiona Ridgway, who played a key role in the development of the COVID-safe programming block VidCon Now, is serving as the producer for the East Coast shindig. “Adding Baltimore to our slate allows us to spread the magic of online creators to new audiences that will be inspired and informed through fun and interactive experiences and engaging programming,” said VidCon SVP of Marketing and Communications Sarah Tortoreti at the time of the announcement.

While VidCon Baltimore is the convention’s first foray into a U.S. market other Anaheim, the Paramount-owned brand has launched several overseas gatherings. Its 2023 slate includes events in Abu Dhabi, Sao Paulo, and Mexico City.
