The Price Of YouTube TV Is Officially Up To $40 Per Month, With Existing Customers Grandfathered In

If you haven’t picked up a YouTube TV subscription, your future patronage just got a little more expensive. YouTube has officially raised the price of its skinny bundle to $40 per month, up from $35 per month, though existing customers will remain grandfathered in at the service’s previous price.

When YouTube announced the price hike last month, it said that the change would go into effect on March 13. Sure enough, YouTube TV now costs $40 per month, though it also boasts a newly-expanded channel that includes Turner hubs like TBS and TNT, which have landed on the service just in time for the NCAA tournament.

At $40 per month, YouTube TV’s price is now in line with that of Hulu’s live TV service, which is one of its primary competitors. A recent subscriber count estimated that YouTube TV has 300,000 customers, while Hulu Live TV has 450,000.

By raising the price of its skinny bundle, YouTube is giving up one of its competitive advantages over Hulu, though the service’s lineup still makes it a strong deal for cord cutters. You can scoop up an account here.
