Binging With Babish’s ‘Eat What You Watch’ Becomes Amazon’s Second Best-Selling Cookbook On Its Release Day

Andrew Rea‘s elaborate takes on cuisine from movies, TV shows, video games, and other pieces of media are now coming to your kitchen. Rea, the chef behind the YouTube channel Binging With Babish, has released a cookbook called Eat What You Watch, which has scored big sales on Amazon in its first day of availability.

Eat What You Watch combines some recipes Rea has already cooked up for his YouTube subscribers — who number more than 1.5 million in all —  with others that he has not yet shared with the viewing public. In his book, beyond dishing on his dishes, Rea also punctuates his write-ups with commentary about Goodfellas, Moonlight, Amelie, and all the other great films that have made it into his literary debut “It features some of the favorite recipes from the show as well as endearing tributes to the great moments of food in movies,” he said in a recent YouTube video discussing Eat What You Watch.

The popularity of Binging With Babish led Eat What You Watch to a strong first day. At the time of this post, the book is the second best-selling cookbook on Amazon. Copies of it are temporarily out of stock, with Rea’s culinary insights quite literally flying off the shelves.

Not content with merely becoming a best-selling author, Rea has plans to expand the Babish channel and bring his brand to other platforms. In a recent Reddit AMA, he announced that he will launch a second, more elementary cooking series called Basics With Babish, which will include a live streaming component on Twitch.
