Felix Kjellberg‘s PewDiePie channel is at the top of our monthly Most Subscribed YouTube channels chart for its third month in a row. The internet’s most popular destination for Let’s Play videos (whose creator is “happy” since he put less emphasis on his YouTube comments) stood steady in the #1 spot with a minor 5% dip in its subscriber acquisition rate. PewDiePie ended the month with nearly 0.76 million new additions to his Bro Army.
In second place is the YouTube home of gamer Mark Edward Fischbach aka MarkiplierGame. The online video repository of “hilarious gaming videos, original comedy sketches, animated parodies, and other various bits of entertainment” added almost 0.43 million new subscribers in October. Up next in the #3 spot is Rhett and Link’s Good Mythical Morning. The daily morning talk show that’s always funny and sometimes educational ended the month with more than 0.42 million new subscribers.
VanossGaming is next up in fourth place. The Canadian gamer with a penchant for comedy held steady in the spot, and despite an 8% decrease in his channel’s subscriber acquisition rate, still added nearly 0.4 million new subscribers during the month. And rounding out the Top 5 is One Direction. The YouTube home of the boy band’s VEVO channel benefitted from the release of a new music video and stole itself more than 0.36 million new subscribers.

The honor of one of our Top Gainers this month goes to RocketJump.
The online video home of Freddie Wong and his Rocket Jump production company increased its subscriber acquisition rate by 628% in October thanks to the highly-anticipated release of the third and final season of Video Game High School. New fans of the hit show subscribed to get updates on the action to the tune of more than 190,000 subscribers and made RocketJump the 65th fastest-growing YouTube channel in the world during the month.
