Shut Up Cartoons’ most popular series is back. Oishi High School Battle, which chronicles the adventures of a Sailor Moon-type anime girl as she navigates an American high school, has returned for a second season.

Oishi may at first seem like a cute cartoon aimed at kids, and while its primary audience is Smosh’s young-skewing audience, there’s more substance to it than initially meets the eye. The reintroduction of Oishi’s Lovecraftian, Olive Garden-loving ex-beau and the macabre reproductive cycle of Oishi’s pet, Bubbles, add in bizarre, unusual, and ultimately worthwhile moments to the mix. A bonus bit of fun: A brief voice cameo from Grace Helbig as one of Bubbles’ offspring.
