Kristen Bell Is ‘Momsplaining’ Parenthood To New Mothers In Her New Ellentube Web Series

Women who are preparing to go through motherhood for the first time can now turn to a Hollywood star for some advice. Kristen Bell, who should qualify as a children’s entertainment legend thanks to her role as the voice of Anna in Frozen, is the host of Momsplaining, a new web series that is now available through Ellen DeGeneresEllentube platform.

In Momsplaining, Bell provides advice related to motherhood and debunks pervasive myths about it. Along the way, she infuses her delivery with a bit of the narcissistic shtick she employs in her role on the NBC sitcom The Good Place. Some of her famous friends show up as guest stars, too. The first episode, which is all about pregnancy and childbirth, features an appearance from fellow actress Kathryn Hahn.

During an appearance on The Ellen Show, Bell explained that she devised Momsplaining after she became pregnant with her first child. “I needed an outlet and this is perfect,” she said. “I help new moms or current moms or expectant moms walk through the stages of children with a little bit of comedy.”

Momsplaining is distributed by Ellentube, the digital platform that houses content from DeGeneres and her friends. The Ellentube network includes a dedicated website as well as The Ellen Show‘s heavily-trafficked social media channels, such as its Facebook page (29 million followers) and its YouTube home (22 million subscribers).

Beyond Momsplaining, DeGeneres’ lineup of digital programs also includes Ellen Show Me More, an ad-supported project funded by YouTube. Bell has appeared as a guest on that program.
