Rooster Teeth To Host 24-Hour Stream This Weekend For Children’s Charity ‘Extra Life’

This weekend, Rooster Teeth will once again participate in a 24-hour livestreaming gaming marathon called Extra Life, which seeks to raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals — a nonprofit that advocates for children’s healthcare.

Rooster Teeth has been a part of the annual Extra Life charity marathon for the past five years — during which time it has raised more than $3 million for the Dell Children’s Medical Center Of Central Texas. As a result, the local facility is naming a garden unit in a new mental health facility after Rooster Teeth — the Rooster Teeth Mental Health Healing Garden — which is slated to open in 2018.

This year, however, the Austin-based digital network has its sights set on a massive $1 million fundraising goal to support Dell Children’s. The company has already raised roughly $100,000 ahead of this weekend’s stream, and prospective donors can add to that hefty sum right here. The stream will take place this on the Rooster Teeth’s YouTube and Twitch channels, as well as on its official website. In addition to the stream, which will be chock full of Rooster Teeth talent — including personalities from hit brands like Achievement Hunter, Funhaus, and The Know — the company is also vending exclusive merch to benefit the cause, which you can check out right here.

“While there’s a generally negative perception of gamers in society, we know this is a false stereotype,” said Rooster Teeth charity director and Achievement Hunter personality Jack Pattillo in a statement. “When Rooster Teeth calls on its fans to support a cause, we can count on them to help us make a huge impact.”
