Patrick Starrr To Launch 5 Collections With MAC Cosmetics As Part Of Year-Long Pact

Patrick Starrr, who is one of the most successful beauty creators on YouTube today, is collaborating with one of the world’s most influential makeup brands.

Starrr, whose real last name is Simondac, is set to launch his own capsule beauty collection alongside MAC Cosmetics next month, the 27-year-old confirmed today in an Instagram post. Dubbed MAC x Patrick Starrr, the first installment of the collaboration will drop on December 14, reports Refinery29. But rather than a one-off launch — as go most influencer collaborations — the extensive relationship will see the two partners roll out five collections over the course of the next year. Interestingly, the partnership also represents something of a full-circle moment, Refinery29 notes, given that Simondac got his start in the makeup industry working at a MAC counter in Orlando in 2012.

“I don’t think I would have started a YouTube channel had it not been for learning at MAC,” he told the outlet.

The first 12-piece collection was one year in the making, and will be available as a limited-edition holiday offering. While little is known about the products, one of them will be a $34 loose setting powder. At the same time, Simondac has been named a ‘Key Artist Collaborator’ at MAC, and will not only create content for the brand but also travel the world to promote his collection and teach master classes.

“Sometimes there can be uncertainty as to the longevity and appeal of an influencer,” MAC SVP Catherine Bomboy Dougherty told Refinery of the brand’s decision to partner with Simondac. “We really see Patrick as someone who has growth trajectory and global appeal. He’s here to stay because he’s a talented makeup artist and entertainer. He also has a unique point of view that’s grounded in individuality.”

Simondac has clocked roughly 3 million YouTube subscribers thanks in part to high-profile recent collab videos with the likes of Kim KardashianTyra Banks, and Ashley Tisdale. And this isn’t the first time he’s collaborated with a major beauty company: the 27-year-old Streamy winner launched a range of nail polishes last year alongside the Sephora-owned Formula X brand.
