Celebs Like Sarah Silverman, Lena Dunham Visit The “Shrink” In New Web Series

A new web series is devoted to the life lessons notable people have learned from years of therapy sessions. The show, called Shrink, comes from a filmmaking duo that refers to itself as Spielbergs, and its star-studded roster of guest stars includes Sarah Silverman and Lena Dunham.

Individual episodes of Shrink are short and succinct. In each one, a subject attempts to boil down the lessons of his or her life-long commitment to therapy into a two-minute segment. The resulting clips, filmed in crisp HD and accompanied by still shots that visualize the concepts that are being discussed, are sharp and poignant.

The six episodes of Shrink that have been released thus far include perspectives from Hollywood performers like Silverman and Dunham and lit class heroes like Susan Orlean and Gary Shteyngart. In Silverman’s installment of the series, she explains how decades of therapy have helped her organize her life as she continues to perform on stage and screen.

Spielbergs, which consists of Teddy Blanks and Alex Karpovsky, has produced numerous projects. The duo’s portfolio includes a segment for Amazon’s series The New Yorker Presents, several spots for Dollar Shave Club, and several music videos. One of the bands they have worked with in the past, Tanlines, provided the music for Shrink.

The new show’s release date conincides with National Psychotherapy Day, and Spielbergs’ commitment to advancing popular awareness of the benefits therapy can offer is admirable. That their series is also colorful and engaging is a nice bonus.
