Warner Bros. Digital Networks Elevates Jay Levine To Executive Vice President

Warner Bros. Digital Networks Group (WBDNG) has promoted Jay Levine to executive vice president. Levine has been with Warner Bros. since 2009 and formerly served as the SVP of business and strategic planning at the company’s Warner Bros. Television Group (WBTVG).

In his new role, Levine will report to Craig Hunegs, who serves as president of business and strategy at WBTVG as well as president of WBDNG. Levine will guide WBDNG’s development of OTT services, digital-native content, and other direct-to-consumer capabilities. He will also oversee the division’s ad sales, distribution, finance, business development, and planning.

Founded last year, WBDNG works closely with sister divisions Turner and HBO, and its portfolio includes the just-announced Boomerang cartoon SVOD service, K-drama streamer DramaFever, gaming-centric digital network Machinima, LeBron JamesUninterrupted multimedia platform for athletes, and Ellen DeGeneresEllen Digital Ventures, which has a development deal in place with the prominent YouTuber Tyler Oakley. Additional services will be announced in coming months, according to the company.

In his previous role at WBTVG, Levine charged the digital expansion of The CW through partnerships with Netflix and Hulu, as well as other distribution windows for WBTVG series. Some of the company’s hit shows include The Big Bang Theory, The Leftovers, Shameless, and The Vampire Diaries. Levine also helped spearhead the acquisition of Alloy Entertainment and build out Blue Ribbon Content, the company’s digital series production unit.
