YouTube’s greatest bromance is going literary. Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal, who have spent the past decade making videos together under the name Rhett & Link, have announced their first book, titled Rhett & Link’s Book of Mythicality: A Field Guide to Curiosity, Creativity, and Tomfoolery.
A press release notes that the Book of Mythicality, which shares its Mythical moniker with Rhett & Link’s morning show as well as their fan base, will feature “tips for laughing more, learning more, and never taking life too seriously.” Like many other books authored by members of the YouTube community, Rhett & Link’s print effort will feature stories and photos from their lives, making it a notable collector’s item for their fans. Crown Archetype, an imprint of Penguin Random House’s Crown Publishing Group, will serve as the publisher.
Rhett & Link introduced the Book of Mythicality with a short trailer posted to YouTube. They are shown writing the book one word at a time, which I like to call the “Snoopy method” of literature.
While that pace may work for comedic effect, Rhett & Link will need to speed up if they plan to hit the Book of Mythicality’s scheduled release date of October 10th, 2017. Until that date, the book is available for preorder from its website. A hardcover copy, as shown on Amazon, will run you $21.
