Over the past few month, the French startup Blackpills has announced itself as a digital platform of note by picking up several short-form series, including at least two headlined by major digital stars. Now, another project has been added to the Blackpills pipeline, and it features more familiar faces. The show is called Superhigh, and its cast includes social media standout DeStorm Power.
Superhigh will star Kev Adams, a former child star in France, as a young man who goes on an adventure after smoking magical weed. DeStorm, who has become renowned in online video circles for his methodical, multi-platform approach to audience building, will have a supporting role.
Blackpills, founded by a pair of French entrepreneurs, has built an intriguing stable of shows that will accompany its forthcoming public launch. Logan Paul and Christian DelGrosso are both tied to the short-form video platform, as is Hollywood star James Franco, who will move his web series Making a Scene from AOL to Blackpills for a third season of movie mashups.
Those programs will begin to arrive once Blackpills officially opens up shop. Right now, a specific launch date has not been specified, though Variety notes the platform is expected to arrive “within the next few months.” Superhigh is slated to premiere in June.
