Storied makeup brand MAC — which has partnered with the likes of Mariah Carey and Caitlyn Jenner in recent weeks on limited edition products — is once again mining the influencer well. In April, 10 Instagram creators from across the globe will each debut their own custom lipstick shade with the brand.
Among the participants are popular YouTube beauty gurus FleurDeForce (the U.K.), Laura Lee and Gabriel Zamora (the U.S.), and Samantha Ravndahl (Canada). Shades will be named with hashtags, as in #MACxFleurDeForce and #MACxGabrielZamora, PopSugar reports.
Other influencers creating their own MAC lipstick shades include Glamour UK beauty director Alessandra Steinherr, Aussie creator Nikkia Joy, Vogue Brazil beauty editor Victoria Ceridono, German Instagram phenom Caroline Daur, Marie Lopez (a.k.a. Enjoy Phoenix), and Kuwaiti makeup artist Fouz AlFahad (The Real Fouz). The lipstick hues themselves will be revealed in coming weeks.

“These beauty influencers are models, photographers, experts, editors, and artists all in one and we admire their makeup artistry talent, point of view, and love they inspire from their fans,” MAC’s SVP of global communications, Catherine Bomboy Dougherty, told PopSugar.
While other brands have teamed with influencers to create capsule products — most recently, for instance, the vlogger Amanda Steele teamed with boutique brand ColourPop on eyeshadows and lipsticks — MAC, it turns out, was one of the first. Back in 2011, the brand teamed with 10 beauty bloggers to release a collection of eyeshadows and lip glosses. April’s release serves to revive this trailblazing concept for 2017, PopSugar reports.
